So, today I had to take a very early lunch to deal with some medical testing. I had an ultrasound ordered by Dr. K., as during my last visit he found what might have been a lump on my Thyroid. Dr. K. isn’t my normal doctor, but a member of the same practice who graciously saw me, anyway, while the other Dr. K., who IS my normal doctor, was on vacation. I prefer alternate Dr. K. to permanent Dr. K., and will therefore be attempting to switch primary care physicians. In any case, the Ultrasound tech who took me back today was very calm, very soothing, and an excellent explainer. She talked me through the process, even answering my off-color question re: the ultrasound goop and its’ provenance. ;-) I mean, if it were formulated just a little differently, it’d make a fantastic lube! Long story short, no lump, thank god(des?). I may be getting fatter by the minute, but at least I don’t have cancer.
Last night, it was very sad to say goodbye to Aphrodite. At least she’ll be visiting about once monthly (like a freezing auntie flo from up north). As his best friend in town, I don’t really know what kind of effect this will have on Orpheus. I hope not as great as I think it will, but we’ll see. He’ll find new friends, it’s just harder for him than it is for me at this juncture, and I worry about him. More later!
